Counselling gives you space to talk through your problems, without judgement, allowing you to better understand yourself and to learn new ways of coping.  This creates space for healing from emotional pain and distress and can lead to change, growth, greater confidence and personal empowerment.

I work from a humanistic approach, which maintains that the client is the expert on his/her own life.  It values the experience of the individual, and considers each person from a holistic approach, comprising of their thoughts, feelings, body, social and spiritual aspects.  I work from an integrated approach, grounded in Person Centred, Gestalt and Existential theories.

I believe that we all have different needs at different times, I meet each client where they are at, with warmth and compassion.  In our first session I will work with you to begin to explore what brings you to counselling, and what you would like to change.  Some people may find that one or two sessions are enough to help them find clarity on a situation, others may be looking for long-term therapy - I will support you to find out what works for you.

There are many reasons why people decide to seek the support of a professional counsellor. For example, you may be:

  • Living with loneliness, or isolation

  • Struggling with the impact of Covid-19

  • Feelings of low self-esteem or self worth

  • Feeling depressed, anxious or suffering panic attacks

  • Faced with the loss of a loved one, or illness

  • Looking for support in times of crisis or change

  • Sexual issues or sexual identity

  • Simply the need to talk to someone who isn't in your circle of friends and family

I offer a safe, confidential space to explore these or any other challenges you might be facing.  I will discuss confidentiality and its limits with you in our first session.

My fee is €50 per session, I offer a sliding scale for a limited number of clients who might have difficulty paying the full fee.  A strict 24 hour cancellation policy applies, and you will be asked to pay your regular fee should you not give adequate notice.
